Project Direction
Hiring people can have the unexpected side-effect of changing your project's direction or scope. For example, I hired a writer named Stephanie from eLance for FanSiter and she's been instrumental in expanding the blog into something more than just a "trunk for blurbs". Now it has its first piece of exclusive content, an interview of a talented (but obscure) musical artist.
So what I'm thinking is that hiring people for delegation is only part of the equation. You feed them their initial tasks and see what else they get hungry for. Maybe they won't suggest anything. I recently hired someone through the good ol' boy system and he has yet to demonstrate any kind of desire oor even self-motivation; only time will tell.
I suppose, in a way, I'm talking about someone you delegate to becoming a manager of sorts. Wow, weird.
